Central Bank of Iran discloses value of foreign assets of Iranian banks

The value of foreign assets of Central Bank of Iran, other Iranian banks and financial institutions amounted to 20.7 quadrillion rials (about $493 billion) in total at the end of the 9th month of the current Iranian year (December 21, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, this is an increase of 37.2 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, the figure was 15 quadrillion rials (about $359 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.

“So, the value of foreign assets of the CBI amounted to 6.8 quadrillion rials (about $162 billion) at the end of ninth month, which is an increase of 16.7 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, the figure stood at 5.82 quadrillion rials (about $139 billion) in the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

In addition, the value of foreign assets of other banks and financial institutions in Iran for the reporting period amounted to 13.9 quadrillion rials (about $331 billion), which an increase of 50.1 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, this figure was 9.26 quadrillion rials (about $221 billion), the statistics said.
