Kazakhstan notes decrease in manufacturing of iron ore

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 19

The production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan amounted to 5.1 million tons in January 2022, which is 2.1 percent less than during the same period of 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Production of copper ores decreased by 17.2 percent during the reporting month, having amounted to 8.2 million tons.

Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 423,500 tons during the reporting period, which indicates a decrease of 16.1 percent compared to the same period of last year.

Production of gold ores amounted to 2.5 million tons over the reporting period, which is 18 percent more than during the same period of 2021.

Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 532,600 tons, which is 8.4 percent less than during the same period of 2021.

As reported, the production of manganese ores amounted to 29,000 tons, which is 64.2 percent more than during the same period of 2021.

Production of chrome ores amounted to 406,600 tons, which is 9.9 percent less than during the same period of 2021.
