BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. A helicopter plant built jointly with Russia is expected to be launched in Azerbaijan in the third quarter of 2022, Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev said at the plenary session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan, Trend reports.

Furthermore, he talked about plans to boost supplies of mineral fertilizers and wheat from Russia to Azerbaijan.

The minister also noted the importance of the Agroexpress project in ensuring food security of the two countries.

As he emphasized, Azerbaijan and Russia signed a number of cooperation agreements, as well as reached strategic level of interaction in several areas.

"We carry out activities in the fields of trade, transport, and investment within eight roadmaps. Russia is the third largest trading partner of Azerbaijan. The positive dynamics in trade turnover will allow it to reach a more significant growth, as it was in the first quarter of 2022. Azerbaijan has invested the Russian economy over $1.2 billion, while Russia - more than $6 billion. We are creating all the favorable conditions for Russian investors here," Mustafayev said.
