BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 9. Iran’s mineral extraction from the Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex in the Zanjan Province (north-western Iran) increased by about 17 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, about 1.04 million tons of minerals were extracted from the Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex last Iranian year.

Meanwhile, in the preceding Iranian year, the figure stood at 886,825 tons.

"About 715,000 tons of minerals were sent to local companies from the Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex over last Iranian year, which is a decrease of 25 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year (953,000 tons)," the report said.

Furthermore, the mining complex produced 93,800 tons of minerals in the 12th month of the last Iranian year (February 20 through March 20, 2022). The production increased by 78 percent, compared to the same month the preceding Iranian year (52,900 tons).

In the 12th month, 63,600 tons of minerals were sent from the mining complex to local companies. This is 12 percent less than in the same month preceding Iranian year (72,200 tons).
