Iran's GTC announces volume of essential goods imported to country

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. Iranian Government Trading Corporation (GTC) imported a total of 1.68 million tons of essential goods (wheat, rice, cooking oils), during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2022), Trend reports citing the corporation’s website.

According to the report, the mentioned essential goods were brought to the country by 28 ships.

In two months, about 525,000 tons of wheat were imported to the country through the Bandar Abbas port by 11 ships, 773,000 tons of wheat - through the Imam Khomeini by 9 ships and 204,000 tons of wheat - through the Chabahar port by 3 ships.

At the same time, 91,600 tons of rice were imported to the country through Iran’s Chabahar, Bushehr and Bandar Abbas ports by 3 ships.

Moreover, 86,400 tons of crude oil were imported to the country through the Imam Khomeini port by 2 ships.
