BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 22. Iran's imports amounted to 8.15 million tons worth about $12.5 billion, during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through June 21, 2022), Director General of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Alireza Moghaddasi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

The director general said that Iran's imports increased by 18 percent in value compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“So, Iran imported goods worth about $3.43 billion from the UAE, worth $3.13 billion from China, worth $1.27 billion from Türkiye, worth $512 million from India and worth $456 million from Germany in 3 months,” Moghaddasi added.

According to him, the transit of goods through Iran for three months amounted to more than 3.67 million tons, which is an increase of 32 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

In total, Iran's non-oil trade turnover for the first three months of current Iranian year amounted to about 36 million tons worth $25.5 billion, which is an increase of 19.5 percent in value, compared to the same period last Iranian year," he said.
