BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 26. The number of overnight stays of tourists in Azerbaijani hotels increased from January through June 2022, Trend reports via the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, this figure amounted to 1.02 million, up by 47.8 percent on annual basis.

In the first six months, about 55.1 percent of total overnight stays in Azerbaijani hotels accounted for Baku, 6.8 percent - Gabala and Guba, 5.5 percent - Gusar and Shabran, three percent - Naftalan, 2.2 percent –Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (AR), 1.1 percent - Shamakhi, 1.1 percent - Mingachevir, 0.9 percent – Shusha, and 8.5 percent - other districts and cities of Azerbaijan.

During the reporting period, 79.9 percent of foreigners and stateless people spent nights in hotels of Baku, 6.2 percent - Gabala, 4.5 percent - Gusar, 3.1 percent - Guba, 2.3 percent - Naftalan, 1.1 percent - Shabran, 0.7 percent - Nakhchivan AR, and 2.2 percent in hotels of other districts and cities of the country.

In total, from January through June 2022, the number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless people in Azerbaijan grew by 3.8 times compared to the same period of 2021 and amounted to 503,500 or 49 percent of the total number of overnight stays.

Meanwhile, total revenues of the hotels in Azerbaijan rose by 63.1 percent in annual terms and equaled 147 million manat ($86.4 million).
