BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 13. In total, 62,899 kg of bony fish have been caught from the Caspian Sea in Iran’s Golestan Province in the north-east of the country, from the beginning of the fishing season in the Caspian Sea in Iran (October 9, 2022 to December 13, 2022), Deputy Director of Golestan Province Fisheries Department, Mohsen Yahyaei said, Trend reports referring to Iran Fisheries Organization’s information portal.

According to Yahyaei, 742 kg of trout, 57,558 kg of mullet, 3,797 kg of carp, 23 kg of Caspian roach, and 869 kg of other bony fish were caught in the Caspian Sea within the mentioned period.

“At the same time, 18 sturgeon fish were caught according to the country’s standard by the fishermen of the province during the reporting period, while 37 sturgeon caught in a non-standard way were released back into the sea,” he added.

As reported, fishing in the Caspian Sea in Iran begins in early October and lasts until April 4.
