BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 28. Overall, 1.11 million tons of goods worth $1.02 billion were imported through the customs of Gilan Province in the north of the country, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2022), Supervisor of Gilan Province Customs Office Sadegh Barzegar told IRNA, Trend reports.

The official noted that the imports increased by 18 percent in value while decreasing by 7 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“The imported goods were mainly essential products including, barley and corn feed, meat, cooking oil, and wood materials, chemical products, various equipment and spare parts," he added.

Barzegar also pointed out that the mentioned goods were mainly imported from Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Azerbaijan, the UAE, Ukraine, Türkiye and Ecuador.
