BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 18. Overall, Iran imported 2.79 million tons of goods worth approximately $4.64 billion from Türkiye, from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022) to December 31, 2022, a member of the international and foreign trade committee of the House of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Rouhollah Latifi said on social media, Trend reports.
The official noted that Iran's imports from Türkiye for the reporting period increased by 18 percent in value compared to the same period last Iranian year.
Latifi added that Iran mainly imported agricultural products worth $1.63 billion and mining minerals worth $251 million from Türkiye within the mentioned period.
“In addition, Iran imported various chemical products, industrial equipment, electronic devices, paper, rubber products, car spare parts, various compressors, etc.,” he said.
In total, the trade turnover between Iran and Türkiye amounted to approximately 15.5 million tons worth over $11 billion within the mentioned period. This is an increase of 35 percent in value compared to the same period last Iranian year.
