Iran shares data on mineral extraction from Anguran Zinc & Lead Mining Complex

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12. Iran extracted more than 1 million tons of mining minerals from the Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex in the Zanjan Province (north-western Iran) by open-pit method, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Head of the complex, Omid Fallah said, Trend reports citing Iran Minerals Production and Supply Company (IMPASCO).

The official noted that the mineral extraction from the complex by open-pit method resulted in a 32-percent increase, compared to the initial forecast of 800,000 tons.

“In addition, 145,000 tons of minerals were extracted from Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex by underground mining method within the last Iranian year, which is 20 percent more than initially planned (120,000 tons),” he added.

Fallah also said that 23,000 tons of travertine stone were extracted from Anguran Complex. This is an increase of 13 percent compared to the initial plan (20,000 tons).

According to him, 1 million tons of mining minerals extracted from Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME). The sales increased by 89 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).

Iran’s Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex is operating under Iran Minerals Production and Supply Company (IMPASCO).

Meanwhile, 617 million tons of mining minerals were extracted in Iran in the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
