BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 3. More than 35,000 tons of non-oil products were exported through Iran’s Bilasuvar border terminal in Ardabil Province (north-western Iran), during the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023), Director General of the Road and Transport Department of Iran’s Ardabil Province, Kalimollah Vosughi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

The director general noted that the main exported non-oil products were ceramics, glass materials, salt, fittings, eggplant, pepper and potatoes.

He added the mentioned goods were transported by about 1,669 trucks.

“In addition, 2,960 tons of goods were imported by 138 trucks through Bilasuvar border terminal in the 1st month,” Vosughi said.

Within the 1st month, more than 78,400 tons of cargo were transited through the Bilasuvar border terminal, which is an increase of 4 percent compared to the same month in the last Iranian year, the official also pointed out.

According to him, in general, 9,298 vehicles crossed through Bilasuvar border terminal for the first month. Of those, 9,136 were trucks, and 162 were buses.

Iran’s Bilasuvar border terminal is located on the border with Azerbaijan.
