Volume of Iran’s saffron exports up by over 50% - Customs Administration

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 13. Iran's saffron exports increased by 41 percent in value and 54 percent in volume for the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Trend reports via the statistics of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Overall, Iran exported 12.3 tons of saffron worth more than $14.3 million in the 1st month.

Iran exported saffron to 29 countries, including Spain, Australia, China, the Republic of South Africa, Afghanistan, Germany and other countries.

So, Iran mainly exported 3.76 tons of saffron worth $4.65 million to China, 3.91 tons worth $4.54 million to the UAE, and 2.34 tons worth $2.56 million to Spain within the first month.

Meanwhile, Iran exported about 10.5 million tons of non-oil products worth approximately $3.65 billion for the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023).

This is a decrease of 12.9 percent in value, while an increase of 17.7 percent in volume compared to the same month in the last year.
