BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 12. Iran’s non-oil exports through Bilasuvar border terminal in Ardabil Province (north-western Iran) increased by 20 percent, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Director General of the Road and Transport Department of Iran’s Ardabil Province, Kalimollah Vosughi said, Trend reports.
Iran’s Bilasuvar border terminal is located on the border with Azerbaijan.
Vosughi noted that more than 90,000 tons of non-oil products by 4,387 trucks were exported through Iran’s Bilasuvar border terminal within the mentioned period.
“Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the non-oil export via Bilasuvar border terminal stood at 75,000 tons,” he added.
The director general said that the main exported non-oil products were salt, glass, ceramics, fittings, pepper, potato, eggplant, construction materials, etc.
According to Vosughi, at the same time, 4,740 tons of goods by 228 trucks were imported through Bilasuvar border terminal for 2 months. This is an increase of 134 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
“Within 2 months, 91,800 tons of cargo were transited through the Bilasuvar border terminal. The cargo was transited by 4,148 trucks,” the customs official also pointed out.
