BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 6. Iran’s non-oil exports through the Bilasuvar customs of Ardabil Province (north-western Iran), increased by 72 percent in value and 28 percent in volume, in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Governor of Bilasuvar County, Sahibali Asghari said, Trend reports.
Asghari noted that in total, 15,800 tons of non-oil products worth $7.65 million were exported through Iran’s Bilasuvar customs in 3 months.
“In addition, 24,600 tons of goods worth approximately $655,000 were imported through Bilasuvar customs for the 3rd month, which is an increase of 135 percent in value and 216 percent in volume compared to the same month in the last year,” he added.
The governor also pointed out that, 57,000 tons of cargo worth $59 million were transited via Iran’s Bilasuvar customs within the mentioned month. Transit decreased by 67 percent in value and 17 percent in volume compared to the same month in the last year.
The Bilasuvar border checkpoint is located on the border between Iran and Azerbaijan.
Overall, Iran exported 35.5 million tons of non-oil products worth $12.5 billion within the first three months of the current Iranian year.
This is a decrease of 8.84 percent in value, while an increase of 24.4 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
At the same time, Iran imported 9.6 million tons of non-oil products worth $14 billion within the first three months of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 5.79 percent in value and 1 percent in volume compared to the same period in the last year.
