Iran sees high increase domestic trucks output

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 5. Iran’s domestic truck and trailer manufacturing increased by 77 percent during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.

As reported in the data of the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade, a total of 13,713 trucks and trailers were manufactured in Iran for 4 months, while the figure stood at 7,739 in the same period last Iranian year.

In the 4th month of the current Iranian year alone (June 22 through July 22, 2023), Iran produced 3,486 local trucks and trailers.

This is an increase of 44 percent compared to 2,422 units in the same period of the last Iranian year.

Overall, 34,136 trucks and trailers were manufactured in the country over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).

Iran’s domestic truck and trailer production increased by 150 percent compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).

Meanwhile, 442,686 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks, trailers, and so on) were produced in Iran for the first four months of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 30 percent compared to the same period last year.

There are three giant car manufacturing companies, Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
