BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 10. Iran’s current government, which came to power in August 2021, has allocated approximately 39.6 trillion rials (about $942 million) for the construction of industrial enterprises in Gilan Province (northern Iran), Chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Gilan Province Teymour Pour Heydari said, Trend reports.

“In general, 740 industrial enterprises are under construction in Gilan province of Iran. There is currently 60-percent physical progress in the construction of these enterprises,” Heydari noted.

He added that these projects will boost the industrial output of the province and create jobs for the locals.

The chairman also said that 105 industrial enterprises that were shut down due to lack of raw materials and funds have resumed their operations since August 2021, employing 5,855 workers.

In total, about 3,000 industrial enterprises are currently operating in Iran's Gilan Province.
