BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 5. Iran’s domestic minibus output dropped by 10.1 percent in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period the previous Iranian year, Trend reports.
Within 8 months, Iran manufactured 586 minibuses domestically, as indicated in the data from Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran.
In the same period of the previous Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2022), the country’s minibus production stood at 652.
In the eighth month alone (October 23 through November 21, 2023), Iran produced 48 minibuses, representing a 57.1-percent decline from 112 in the same month last year.
Meanwhile, 1,118 minibuses were produced in the country for the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 10.8 percent compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
Overall, 882,471 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks, trailers, and so on) were produced in Iran in 8 months. This is an increase of 17.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies, Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
