BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 11. Overall, Iran exported approximately $1.14 billion worth of copper and related products, weighing 226,000 tons for the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023), Trend reports.
According to the data from the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), Iran’s copper exports for the reporting period dropped by 3 percent in value, while surging by 8 percent in volume compared with the same period last year.
In the corresponding period as the previous Iranian year, nearly 209,000 tons of copper and related products, worth approximately $1.17 billion, were exported from the country.
Meanwhile, Iran exported around 46.8 million tons of minerals and mining products, worth approximately $9.77 billion over the course of the nine months. This is an increase of 4.94 percent in value and 30.7 percent in volume from the same period last Iranian year.
Iran’s efforts to boost its non-oil exports amid the US sanctions that limit its oil sales. Iran’s non-oil exports include all products except crude oil, mazut, and white oil.
The latest data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) shows that Iran exported about 102 million tons of non-oil products worth $36.4 billion in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023). This represents a 0.68 percent drop in value but a 26.5 percent rise in volume compared to the same period last year.
