BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 25. The passenger car manufacturing of Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKCO) fell by 6.3 percent during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
IKCO manufactured a total of 444,471 passenger cars in ten months, as was reflected in the data from the company.
In the corresponding period of the previous Iranian year, the company’s passenger car output stood at 474,371 units.
During 10 months, the company produced 231,882 units of ‘Peugeot’, 71,439 units of ‘Dena’, 49,520 units of ‘Samand’, 38,694 units of ‘Tara’, 19,996 units of ‘Runna’, 16,739 units of ‘Haima’, and 16,201 units of other models of cars.
As previously reported, the IKCO aims to boost auto manufacturing by 50 percent by the end of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024).
In total, Iran Khodro Company manufactured 630,736 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-ups, trucks and trailers, vans, buses, and minibuses) in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).
This is an increase of 37.7 percent compared to 458,785 units in the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
