WHO specialists on visit to Baku

On Tuesday the management of the State Veterinary Service under the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry met with the delegation of the World Health Organization (WHO), Ismayil Hassanov, the head of the Service, told Trend.

According to Hassanov, during the meeting the specialists of the organization were informed about the work on prevention of penetration of bird flu into the Azerbaijani territory.

The guests expressed will to pay a visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (AR), Barda, Massally and Astara to get familiar with the situation. The Veterinary Service noted its readiness to establish all necessary conditions for this.

Hassanov also said that the next monitoring on determination of existence of bird flu in Azerbaijan had started. It is the 8th monitoring in line. The monitoring acts will be held till March i.e migration of wild birds, Hassanov stressed.
