Azerbaijan takes first place on investment attractiveness, report of UNCTAD
In 2005 the investment in the economy of the country increased by 12.7%. In
accordance with the report of UN Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Azerbaijan is a leader in the world in the view of investment attractiveness, the Economic Development Ministry told Trend. The figure is calculated on the base of ratio of GDP per capita to direct foreign investments per capita. On the results of 2005 capitation income was $1517,6.
On investment attractiveness] Azerbaijan took 13th place in 2002, 3rd - 2004, 1st - 2005.
Over $20bn has been put in the Azerbaijans economy since the declaration of its independence. On the amount of the investment per capita Azerbaijan takes one of the first places among the CIS and Eastern European countries.
