On 15 March the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry starts implementation of the project on construction of motor bridges for unloading the transport infrastructure of Baku, Trend reports quoting Ziya Mammadov, the Transport Minister, as saying on Thursday. Foundation laying of the first bridge will be carried out at the circle near the Mashadi Azizbayov subway station.
According to Mammadov, foundation of six more bridges will be laid soon. The total number of the bridges to be constructed over 2 years will comprise 10. Besides, the Transport ministry will build the new highway, connecting the city with the airport. The Ministry also supposes construction of numerous overland and underground passages.
All these works will be implemented within the Presidents decree on improvement of the transport system of Baku for 2006-2007.
