Baku has no problem with the transit of cargo through the Baku International Marine Trade Port, a Government source told Trend. Today the key volume of the cargo will be for alumina that is transported from the Georgian Poti Port to Turkmenistan. The gross volume of the cargo is expected to total approximately 700 carriages.

In August the period of ferry trips from Baku has lengthened due to the low speed of unloading carriages in the Port of Turkmenbashi and the transportation of cargo with ferries to Makhachkala Port (Russia).

For these reasons, a cistern of up to 900 carriages has been created in Baku Port.

Presently pipes from the Ukraine, alumina from Australia that is transported through Poti Port and products from the Ganja aluminum plant are transported in this way as well as the delivery of cargo to Nakchivan Autonomous Republic.
