VW expands Cross' family with the CrossTouran

(autoinsidernews) - Volkswagen is adding another model to its Cross' family. Following the CrossPolo and the CrossGolf, Volkwagen is introducing the CrossTouran, the crossover model of the successful compact van.

The CrossTouran features silver anodized roof rails, matte chrome front spoiler, all-around carbon-fiber protection (bumper lower sections, side running boards, wheel arches, side trim), raised ride height (12mm), and new 17-inch wheels, reports Trend.

CrossTouran will be available with three gasoline engines outputs from 102-hp to 170-hp and three TDIs outputs ranging from 105-hp to 170-hp. The top-of-the-line CrossTouran will feature VW's 1.4L TSI Twincharger engine mating a supercharger, a turbocharger and direct injection to deliver 170-hp and standard DSG.

The CrossTouran will go on sale in Spring 2007, but like the Touran for that matter the CrossPolo and the CrossGolf we won't see it in the States.
