Number of Cars Increased by 2.5 Times in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. E.Huseynli / Major General Ramiz Zeynalov, the Head of the Azerbaijan Central Traffic Police Department, has stated to the meeting of the Azerbaijan Interior Ministry that the number of registered cars in Azerbaijan exceeds 720,000, which is 2,5 times more as compared to 1993.

In 1992-1993 one car fell per 22 people in average in the country. Presently, this figure increased and 1 car fell on per 12 people.

Zeynalov stressed that the death cases on the roads decreased. Averagely, some 16 deaths fell on per 100,000 people, while presently this figure decreased by 7. This figure is lower as compared to other CIS countries.
