Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend A.Ismayilova / Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, participated in the opening of the re-commissioned two corps of the Sumgayit Aluminum Plant in Sumgayit city of Azerbaijan, on the 12th of June. The commissioning of these corps will enable to double the annual production at the plant to 60,000 tons.
The highest production rate at this plant was achieved in 2006, when output comprised of 30,200 tons.
Aluminum is part of the Azeraluminium joint stock company with the personnel of 4,000. Some 500 people will work at new corps and 540 of them have already been hired.
The average wage rate at the plant is AZN 300 (some $350). In 2006 a total of AZN 62mln was invested in the JSC at the expense of internal funds.
