Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / The number of state employees in Azerbaijan increased by 6.5% by April 2007, compared to the same period of 2006, and made up 27,300 people. According to the State Statistics Committee, 27.9% of the employees are women.
3.2% of state employees occupy administrative positions falling under grades 1-4, 79.9% fall under grades 5-9 and 16.9% are support staff.
Some 9.7% of employees have one year's experience, while the length of service of 2.1% varies from 1-5 years, 23.8% from 5-10 years, 18.9% from 10-15 years, and 21.5% over 15 years. In the most part (57%) employees are 35-54 years old.
Some 15% of employees of grades 5-9 are department mangers, 9.8% are deputy department managers, 8.3% are sector managers, 24.5% are general counsels, 5.5% are senior counsels, 14.4% are leading counsels and 22.5% are counsels.
