Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr I. Khalilova / Azerbaijan Economic Development Ministry has rejected the initiative on introduction of termless licenses for several types of activities.

According to the head of Entrepreneurship Development Department of the Economic Development Ministry, Samir Nuriyev, several state bodies did not back the suggestion and it was decided that termless licensing can relax state control over those types of activities.

"We studied international experience and did not come across such practice, therefore it was decided not to change the tradition and to renew licenses in 5 years," Nuriyev said.

Under the order on Types of Commercial Activities Requiring Special Permission (License) issued by Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, on 29 December 2006, the list of the activities, the duties, and the organizations issuing licenses were defined. The list includes 50 types of commercial activities. Previously it was 37 and 204. One type of activities was added to the list - sale and purchase of golden wares.

The amount of duties for license varies from AZN 220 to AZN 25,000 depending on activities.
