SOCAR Georgia Completes Feasibility Study for Oil Base in Tbilisi

Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 March /corr. Trend S.Aliyev / SOCAR Energy Georgia Company, which is 100% daughter enterprise of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), has completed preparation for the feasibility study of the project on construction of large oil products storage in Tbilisi, the Head of SOCAR Energy Georgia, Mahir Mammadov, said on 14 March in Baku.

According to him, the cost of the project is estimated at $15mln. The Company intends to construct this base within in a year.

The oil base will be constructed in the Kiziki street near Tbilisi International Airport. Last year, the Company acquired nearly 5ha of land for $3mln to realize the project. The reserves of the new facility will allow keeping nearly 20,000 tons of oil products, including liquid gas, which will be sold in Georgian market. Various kinds of petrol, kerosene, bitumen, liquid gas and mazut will be reserved in the facility.
