Azerbaijan, Baku, 9 August / Trend / The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) completed drilling of the next well in Neft Dashlari-1887 platform, the SOCAR said. The well is 2,685m in depth.

Neft Dashlari Oil and Gas Production Unity (OGPU) plans to put into exploitation 20 new exploratory wells by 2009. The measures are realized within the framework of the Azerbaijani President's decree on increasing production volume from 812,000 tons of oil to 1.2mln tons (1.5 times) at the OGPU. The general volume of oil production will make 936,420 tons in the field in 2008. The OGPU plans to increase oil production to 1.020mln tons in 2009.
According to the SOCAR geologists' estimations, residual volume of oil amounts to 30mln tons in Neft Dashlari field. The SOCAR will drill 78 new wells to rise oil production in the filed by 2010.
