Ten percent of drilled oil wells inactive in Kazakhstan

Over 10 percent of the oil wells drilled in Kazakhstan are inactive, Kazakh member of parliament Zaynulla Alshimbayev told Trend .

"I would like to draw your attention to the poor conditions at these wells. Over 10 percent of the drilled wells in the country are inactive," Alshimbayev said.

Kazakhstan loses 8.5 million tons of oil annually as a result.

"We lose 8.5 million tons of oil annually," Alshimbayev said.

Consequently, over 20 percent of produced oil reserves are not used.
