$10 mln to be invested in Georgian hydroelectric power station

Energo-Pro Georgia's privatization of the Ortachala Hydroelectric Power Station has completed.  

Ortachala is being passed to Energo-Pro Georgia's management, a company source said.

Ortachala is the ninth station privatized by Energo-Pro Georgia. 

A total of $10 million will be invested to rehabilitate and raise the efficiency of Ortachala over four years. Energo-Pro Georgia privatized the station at $25 million on Dec. 19.  

Energo-Pro Georgia invested 7 million euro in the sector in 2008.  

Energo-Pro Georgia has invested roughly 25 million euro in energy distribution.

The investments were directed at rehabilitating networks, cable communications and constructing power lines. The company installed individual meters for 130,000 subscribers in 2008.
