Korean BLITIX to invest $100mln to project in Uzbekistan

The South Korean BLITIX will invest $100 million to gas-filled stations, compressor stations and automobile water heaters in Uzbekistan.

The Uzbekistan Foreign Ministry reported that BLITIX Vice President Li Chan Sik made the adjusted statement at the Uzbek-Korean conference in Seoul. The conference was dedicated to the creation of free industrial and economic zone (FIEZ) "Navoi".

"Our key project in FIEZ in Navoi city is to commence the production in gas-filled and compressor stations and automobile water heaters. We plan o invest $100 million to the project," Li Chan Sik said.

In the mid of February, BLITIX representatives and management of the Uzbekneftgaz holding discussed the implementation of the joint project on construction and operation of automobile gas make-up compressor stations, the holding told Trend .

"A specialized joint venture will be created. The sides agreed to design a joint document to create a legal basis  for further steps," the holding said.

The BLITIX plans to construct 50 auto gas service stations in Uzbekistan. The implementation of the project will be commenced in the first half of 2009.
