Currently, JSC NC "KazMunayGas" is negotiating to acquire equity stake in the Pavlodar petrochemical plant, vice president of KazMunayGas Daniyar Berlibayev told Trend correspondent.

"A new company has been formed which owns the plant and we are negotiating to purchase a stake package of the plant," Berlibayev said.

However, he did not divulge a size of the stakes purchased from the plant. "I can not say anything about the transaction. There are different options, we are still negotiating with the seller on which shares we can buy," the vice-president said.

Berlibayev added that an exact date of signing the deal is unknown. "There are some issues on the assessment of property and other problems. As to for which price we will buy, KazMunayGa has enough money for it," Berlibayev said.

The Pavlodar petrochemical plant is located in Pavlodar (northern Kazakhstan). It was built during the USSR period and is technologically configured to refine crude oil from West Siberian fields. Design capacity is 7 million tons of oil annually. The volume of refinery was 4.2 million tons in 2008.
