The Kazakh electric networks management company KEGOC has successfully completed the next stage of the project "Construction of the second line of power transmission 500 KWt transit to North-South Kazakhstan".
The ceremonial opening of the 500 KW Agadyr-YukGRES facility was held at the 500 KW Agdyr substation with attendance of Prime Minister Karim Masimov.
Operation of substation will increase the confidence of consumers in the south and through increasing of capacity of the North-South Kazakhstan transit to 180 MWt.
"KEGOC is planning to complete the project in November 2009 and operate the second line of transit through increasing the capacity of power to south from 730 to 1,350 MWt," President of KEGOC Kanat Bozumbayev said at the ceremony.
The total length of the power transmission network is 1,096 kilometre.
