Gazprom opens tender to repair Mozdok-Qazimammad gas pipeline

Russia's largest gas monopolist has opened a tender to select contractor on design and survey works as a part of capital repairs of four transition of Mozdok-Qazimammad gas pipeline through highways (four facilities), Gazprom official web site said.  

The repairs will be funded by Gazprom Transgaz Makhachkala (Gazprom subsidiary).

Earlier SOCAR and Gazprom signed a memorandum on understanding according to which agreement was reached to start negotiations to coordinate conditions of sale of Azerbaijani gas and launch first supply on January 2010 until Azerbaijan-Russia border (DAF). The memorandum calls for designing cooperation program for the exchange of experiences, conducting courses, seminars and visits to production facilities by specialists in an effort to exchange information.

SOCAR and Gazprom will conduct technical inspection of the gas pipeline system in Baku-Novo-Filya section in an effort to upgrade it. Azerbaijani gas will be pumped to Russia via this section.

Baku-Novo-Filya is a part of the Azerbaijani gas transport system running from Baku till Russian border along the Caspian Sea coast. The length of the section is about 200 kilometers and diameter of pipe is 1,220 millimeters.

Gazprom also plans to buy full volume of has as a part of Shah Deniz-II, SOCAR senior official said. The gas produced from SOCAR fields is expected to be exported soon specifically to Dagestan.

SOCAR will produce about 8 billion cubic meters of gas from own fields in 2009.
