Fuel prices have increased in Georgia by 50 percent over the last four months due to situation in the world market, Alliance of Georgian Oil Products Producers and Consumers chairman Vano Mtvralashvili said.

"Our prices cannot be identical to those at world markets and similar processes go on in our country over last months - fuel prices increase by about 3 percent per a month," Mtvralashvili said.

Customs duties on fuel import and devaluation of the national currency determine prices at the domestic market, Mtvralashvili said.

Different taxes, including excise as well as expenses on transportation and other payments imposed on fuel. Big tax burden lies on fuel, Mtralashvili said.
