Azerenergy JSC will complete preparation of Azerbaijani hydroelectric map soon, head of JSC, Etibar Pirverdiyev, said on October 20.
The map can include construction of about 100 small hydroelectric power stations. Their capacity varies between 0.1-0.2 and 50 milliwatt.
"Forecasted energy potential of Azerbaijani small rivers hits 500-600 milliwatt," Pirverdiyev said.
He said that these operations envisage development of alternative sources of energy in Azerbaijan. As to development of wind energy, head of Azerenergy said that the Absheron peninsula, namely, Yashma, Sangachal and Gobustan have great potential to develop this alternative source of energy.
"All territories are considered. But we think that only the Absheron peninsula is considered as the most effective one," Pirverdiyev said.
