Recovery in investment
As the global economy transitions into growth, there are signs that some oil and gas companies are beginning to increase investment. However, given the uncertainty about the strength and sustainability of the recovery, companies are being more selective about where they choose to invest.
Some companies are opting to raise their capital spending budget for 2010 while others are attempting to gain a foothold in new markets or resource plays through strategic acquisitions and the formation of new joint ventures or bidding consortia.
