SOCAR's gas processing plant to create new infrastructure

It is planned to build a new pipeline in the Azerbaijan Gas Processing Plant through which ethane fraction obtained at the company, will be delivered to the installation of EP-300 of industrial association Azerichimia as a part of the Gas Program of SOCAR, a source said.

It is planned to increase the processing capacity up to eight billion cubic meters a year within this program in 2010-2012 to ensure the processing of gas volumes.

In 2010, SOCAR's Baku Gas Processing Plant plans to process 4.38 billion cubic meters of gas compared to 3.9 billion cubic meters last year.

In 2010, the factory will produce 4.305 billion cubic meters of dry gas compared to 3.824 billion in 2009. The percentage yield of dry gas will be 98.29 percent.

The company plans to produce 26,100 tons of natural gasoline this year compared to more than 27,000 tons in 2009. It is planned to produce 20,000 tons of technical butane this year compared to about 22,000 tons last year.

Incomes in 2010 from the activities of gas processing is projected at about $ 22 million manat, while the expected costs - about 20 million manat. As a result, it is planned to get about $ 2.13 million manat from economic activity of the plant in 2010.

This year, the investment program plans to reach more than 5.9 million manat.

It is planned to spend five million manat for overhaul within the program. Last year, these figures were about 1,2 and about 5,02 million manat respectively.

The plant processes gas of SOCAR's production association "Azneft". On the basis of the contract after the processing plant on behalf of the PU transferres goods to "Azerigas" (distribution and sale of gas in Azerbaijan), LLC Meishetmaegaz (LNG) and for export (natural gasoline).

At present, production capacity is 6.5 billion cubic meters a year.
