The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will prepare a program on management of waste of the Azerkimya Production Association, a source in SOCAR said on Monday.
According to him, at present, SOCAR Ecology Department monitors waste accumulated in the Production Association over the years. Work on the program will commence upon completion of these operations.
"Monitoring is nearing completion, after which a waste management program will be prepared, which is the result of long-term operation of chemical plants, owned by the production association," the source said.
He said that after preparing the program SOCAR jointly with ecologists will identify which waste is suitable for utilization, recycling and conservation.
Azerkimya Production Association is owned by SOCAR and is Azerbaijan's largest chemical products producer. At present, SOCAR works on modernization of the petrochemical complex in order to improve product quality, expansion of product range and development of the sphere of production of finished consumer products from the chemical raw materials.
