Azneft Production Unit of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) pumped over 1.96 billion cubic meters of gas into underground gas storage facilities in the first half-year, Azneft executive director Dashgin Isgandarov's article published in "Xalq newspaper" says.
"At present, process of pumping gas into underground gas storage facilities is in more active phase," Isgandarov said.
Azerbaijan has two underground gas storage facilities - Garadagh and Kalmaz.
As SOCAR head Rovnag Abullayev said earlier, this year the company plans to pump 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas into underground gas storage facilities.
Over 1.14 billion cubic meters in Azerbaijani gas storage facilities remained from last season. About 1.92 billion cubic meters were pumped out from the underground gas storage facilities last season.
