The volume of crude oil production increased by 0.7 percent in Kazakhstan in January-August 2011 over the same period of last year, the statistics agency said, Novosti-Kazakhstan news agency reported.
According to the agency, the country extracted 44.9 million tons of oil. In particular, about 5.7 million tons were extracted in August, or 0.1 percent less compared to August last year.
Kazakhstan plans to extract oil to the amount of 81 million tons in 2011 compared to 80 million last year.
