Iran to increase gas production in central regions by 25 million cubic meters , SHANA reported quoting Head of Drilling Department in Iranian Central Oil Fields Co Hossein Shourab as saying.
"Iranian Central Oil Fields Co is to start drilling more than 70,000 meters well project at oil and gas fields of central regions in current solar year (started on March20,2011)," he said.
Iranian Central Oil Fields Co will increase number of its drilling rigs to 34 in current year while the it plans to drill 65 wells in central regions of Iran.
The company currently produces 325 million cubic meters gas per day and provides 67 percent of country's gas consumption.
Iran has OPEC's second-highest oil output, and ranks second in the world in terms of natural gas reserves after Russia.
