NICO Naftiran Intertrade Company will assign $200 million to complete the construction of Persian Gulf Star refinery, SHANA reported quoting Managing Director of National Iranian Oil Refining Distribution Company Ali Reza Zeyghami as saying.
"Iran's Oil Minister has ordered the extra aid from NICO to the project which will be placed by National Iranian Oil Refining Distribution Company to construction of Persian Gulf Star refinery," he said.
Currently 48 percent of Persian Gulf Star refinery has completed and we expected to witness progress in the project, he added.
He noted the construction of Persian Gulf Star refinery requires $1.5 billion investment and the ministry seek to attract the financial aid from domestic sources.
Previously Ali Rerza Zeyghami said Bank Mellat energy fund or investment from Chinese company will provide financial sources for construction Persian Gulf Star refinery.
Deputy Oil Minister Mohsen Khojastemehr said earlier sum of $1 billion will be provided to continue construction of Persian Gulf Star refinery.
Persian Gulf Star refinery requires 360,000 barrels of gas condensates and by completing the construction it will produce 35 million liters of gasoline per day alongside 2 million liters of LNG, 13 million liters diesel, 3 million liters light jet fuel and 130 million liters of sulfur.
It's expected the refinery would provide 55 million liters major products of country's needs and by launch of first phase in next year(starts on March20,2012) it will produce 12 million liters of gasoline and 6 million liters diesel.
