Azerbaijan, Baku, Nov 28 /Trend E.Ismayilov/

The uneven distribution of gas within a day in Baku due to the mismatch capacity of gas transportation infrastructure of the increased consumption, source of SOCAR said to Trend.

Lowering the gas pressure in the daytime is due to the use of morning, afternoon and evening mode of gas supply. High gas pressure in the morning and evening hours is linked with the high demand for large volumes of gas at this time.

"But there are other objective reasons for reducing the gas pressure in the system," the source said.

According to the source, the distribution network of Baku and Absheron peninsula became obsolete and not designed for the sprawling city and a significant increase in the number of gas consumers. Construction of new houses and joining of new subscribers disable the system to fully meet the gas demand.

"We are working to improve this situation," the source said.
Azerigas is engaged in transportation and distribution of gas in Azerbaijan.
