"It is important for Turkmenistan to increase the rate of hydrocarbon production given the increasing demand for natural gas on the world markets," Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at the last governmental meeting, the Turkmen government reported today. He emphasised the importance increasing the rate of hydrocarbon production.
He said it is necessary to fully utilise all opportunities to accelerate industrial development of the new hydrocarbon fields and to modernise enterprises.
A report on the country's fuel energy complex from January to November 2011 was heard at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
In particular, the growth in oil and gas condensate production in the country amounted to 107.9 per cent compared to the same period of last year. Volumes of natural gas production increased by 42.5 per cent, while exports of 'blue fuel' by 75.2 per cent.
The hydrocarbon processing volumes in the oil refining industry increased by 2.5 per cent, while petrol and diesel fuel production was up by 2.9 per cent, as well as lubricants and other oil products having a high demand in domestic and foreign markets.
