The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline transported about 30.06 million tons of oil in January-November 2011 compared to 34.2 million at the same period of 2010, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan said on Tuesday.
As of Dec.1, the volumes of oil transported via BTC hit over 173.6 million tons.
According to the report, 2.15 million tons of oil was transported via BTC in November compared.
About 30 million tons were delivered from the Turkish port of Ceyhan to the world markets in January-November compared to 34.1 million tons in January-November 2010. As of Dec.1, 2011, 171.83 million tons of Azerbaijani oil was delivered from Ceyhan to the world markets.
According to the report, over 2.3 million tons of Azerbaijani oil was shipped from Ceyhan to the world market in November, over 1.45 million tons of which fall to SOCAR.
The BТС's total length is 1.768 kilometers including a 443-kilometer section running via Azerbaijan, a 249-kilometer section traversing Georgia and a 1.076-kilometer section passing through Turkey. The pipeline's construction began in April 2003. First oil was marked May 18, 2005.
BTC Co. shareholders include: BP (30.1 percent); AzBTC (25 percent); Chevron (8.90 percent); Statoil Hydro (8.71 percent); ТРАО (6.53 percent); Eni (5 percent); Total (5 percent); Itochu (3.40 percent); Inpex (2.50 percent); ConocoPhillips (2.50 percent) and Amerada Hess (2.36 percent).
