Volume of oil transportation via Kazakh KazTransOil's main oil pipelines hit 54.019 million tons in 2011 compared to 52.505 million tons in 2010 (a 3-percent increase), the company said on Wednesday.
The cargo turnover through the main oil pipelines increased by 270 million tons per km (one percent increase) in 2011 compared to the same index of 2010 and amounted to 34.493 billion tons per km.
Volume of oil transportation via Uzen-Atyrau-Samara oil pipeline's Atyrau-Samara section increased to 15.427 million tons during this period compared to 15.301 million tons in 2010.
In December 2011 Russian oil transportation via the Omsk-Pavlodar-Atasu-Alashankou pipeline was renewed. Thus, hydrocarbons transportation in the direction of China through Atasu-Alashankou oil pipeline reached 10.894 million tons in 2011 and exceeded the index of 2010 by 801,000 tons, or by 8 percent. Meanwhile, the volume of Russian oil transported via Atasu-Alashankou oil pipeline reached 200,000 tons.
Transportation of Russian oil via the section of TON-2 oil pipeline, located on the territory of Kazakhstan made up 5.432 million tons.
The volumes of oil transportation via the main pipelines to oil refineries also increased in 2011.The volume of oil transportation to the oil refinery amounted to roughly 123.190 million tons in January-December and exceeded the index of 2010 by 4 percent.
KazTransOil is the Kazakh National Oil Transportation Company. It maintains interests of the state on oil transportation, export and import of oil and oil products.
